Hey guys, love the site. I tried to make a countdown timer off of this site:
http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/countdown.htm
It works great except for the fact that every five seconds this error message pops up whe I try to run the exported SWF file in Flash Player:
"A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive.
Do you want to abort this script? (Yes/No)"
When I press “Yes” the countdown stops working.
Here’s the deal. I’m pretty adept at Flash and its graphical tools but I hardly know any Actionscript; I could barely figure out how to set the date correctly. I need to use this countdown for a scene in a film I’m making that we’re shooting in a couple of days. The only way that my version of the countdown is different than the sample is its size: I used pretty big graphics because I want it to look good full-screen on my 20 inch iMac (resolution 1680 x 1050), so I outputted the letters to about that resolution. I downscaled the letters so that the movie is about the same size as the sample but the problem still persists.
Any common-language help or guidance for an ActionScript novice would be greatly appreciated.
