Can anyone tell me how to strip the last digit (the number) from a var value that looks like this: _root.my_mc1
<karmakat> and make it another var
ie. if a var, say myclip happens to be equal to **_root.my_mc1 **for instance, how can i make a var that strips this variable of _root.my_mc and return 1
