Howdy all,
I was wondering if anyone could point me to a good thread about creating DVDs that play in DVD players not PCs? I have been working on a project for my neighbor who has a home preschool and I have created a slide show for her and the kids for their graduation. Anyhow, I need to be able to make my Flash movie into a DVD so those who don’t have a fast enough PC can view it without any problems by playing it on their TV.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

You’ll need to record the SWF to a movie format - this can be done through CS3 with the new live record feature (which I think is integrated into the quicktime export). Then you need a DVD authoring tool that can take that movie and dump out the necessary DVD files to record to a disk. Some burners may be able to pump out something generic as long as you have a movie file, but other tools give you more capabilities in terms of defining menus and things like that (apps like DVD Studio etc)

              Flash CS3 > File > Export > Export Movie
save as mov or avi (goes without saying, just make sure you export at the highest quality you can from flash)
Once you have the video clip file/s, you can use a free program called “DVD Flick” to make the standard dvds (it supports direct conversion of FLV files too)
hope this helps
