Credit Cards

I’m having trouble getting my first credit card. I’ve had my own bank account for more than half a year now, and I have plenty of money, but I keep getting turned down for simple credit cards. I applied for one at Target, American Eagle, and a while back, I applied for that Apple-Mac credit program. I got turned down by all of them and they said I had insuffient credit history, which I guess is because I’ve never had any credit history. I have a debit card, and thats it, but how the heck am I supposed to get credit history if no one will give me a card?! I don’t even want to spend a lot, I just want to have the cards because they give me discounts at the stores. I don’t want to keep applying too, getting denied doesn’t feel good, and I don’t think it helps the situation. Help me!
