Hey… I haven’t been here in a while but I was hoping someone could help me. I’ve been working on a site for a while, and for some reason there have been all sorts of cross-browser problems.
I have learned a couple tricks (like the * html for IE) but I’m still having lot of problems.
For example, I can do that trick for IE, but it seems to only work with IE6 - in IE7** it looks different, and in **[URL=“http://www.starryskymedia.com/images/screenshots/ie5-ss.png”]IE5 or 5.5 the site is completely messed up.
The other problem I’m having (sorry if this is in the wrong forum) is that I’m using swfobject - mainly to get rid of the “click to activate” thing in IE7. The problem is, in some browsers, the flash header doesn’t show up at all… as you can see in Safari** for Windows and in **[URL=“http://www.starryskymedia.com/images/screenshots/opera-xp-ss.png”]Opera.
I’ve been using browsershots.org to test and in Linux operating systems, the flash header doesn’t show up at all in any of those browsers.
Yes, I know - I don’t need to use flash for the header and I should probably just go back to html/javascript, but nevertheless, I would like to figure out what the problem is - for future reference, when I do need to use a flash header and it doesn’t show up in certain browsers with swfobject.
So any help at all would be great. Thanks! :cap:
