Flash CS3 has a pretty annoying and time-consuming (to fix) bug. Create a layer. Hide it (with the eye icon in the timeline). Create a test movie. The layer doesn’t appear. Does anyone else get this bug? Or, as a temporary solution, can anyone create a flash extension to recursively go through your movieclips and unhide each layer?
