I am a teacher getting to grips with Flash and have a student whose problem is stumping me. She has a homepage.swf that contains a graphic, a scrolling text box and some navigation buttons. When you press the promotion button she has attached a behaviour to ‘Load external movie clip’ and this should load the promotion page.swf in the current window. We have been using AS2 as the scroll text component does not seem to be recognized by AS3 and behaviours are working well with all other students’ files. It goes wrong when she tests the homepage.swf and clicks the Promotion button. Instead of the promotion page.swf completely replacing the homepage in the current window it loads it offset a quarter down and to the right. You can still see the homepage in the background and one of the homepage graphics actually sits in front of the promotion page.swf. I’ve tried everything I can think of but am now completely stuck. I’d be grateful for any help. We are using CS4. I have checked and the files are set to As2 and Flashplayer 10 settings.
