CSS? Whats a good place to start

Ok, just searched Google with CSS and got Wc3 homepage, read through a intro tutorial and it doesnt seem soo bad to learn. Different but not horribly wrong (I may be wrong there :)) I want to use it for my HTML side of my portoflio which is done completly and so the coding is the hard part for me now. Becuase with Tables it is just a pain in the butt to use, so any advice here? Thanks!
