hi i was just thinking about copying this guy and making my very own lego case
lol im 17 and i have tons of lego from when i was youger. it is genious because the case you could build it how you want it with super customization just wondering any 1 know the metling temp of lego
I don’t think you should worry about melting temp of plastic, although it’s not very high, other things inside the computer will malfunction before legos start melting. A lego case is not a bad idea, but how do you plan to do a secure mount of mobo? Unless you plan to drill and superglue some legos, that’s a whole lota vibration. Lego being plastic also doesn’t absorb heat well. Good luck making a secure fit of everything.
for securing it i was thinking about making a mobo that is not standing up
kinda like this
or i could make it side standing but use lego blocks to secure it thats how the dude in the link did it
as for heat you can make it like a fan box lmao i could put like 4 fans per side or somthing stupid like that
i really like the idea of lego 1st you can make it custom 2nd you can change it easily
That’s ugly! Go with the ASUS Vento
Do you also realize if you accidentally kick/step on your machine, everything will be crushed right? Do you plan to superglue a lot?
Yeah you would probably have to superglue every piece together to be safe.
Little question on the lego case subject one the side…
Can you build in the mobo right away? Aren’t there some points on the mobo and other parts usually are connected to your case for ?grounding? purposes?
I always put together my own computers, and you screw the mobo onto a metal board, using the screws to make some contact between the mobo and case.
lol, lego case… just get a normal case i could see lego’s being a hassel. So much glue.
@xylitar cases arn’t used for grounding… all your parts for the most part should never touch your case except where its shown. Ever wonder why there are 3 prongs on computer wires. Hope that sums it up.
i have a good case now im just saying i wann go fulllll out custom like making a super mario case like a hallow super mario and i could put stuff inside him yeh i need alot of glue but i got tons of lego and im ready for the challenge
o and i got lots of time lol
I could be mistaken, but I don’t think there’s any grounding involved. I’m basing that on the fact that there are a number of clear acrylic cases easily available out there.
is his monitior made of lego as well… (?) cool
i say go for it! leggo is cool and so is customization!! there will be hassles but it will be freaking sweet checking out your own lego case!!
:ninja:EZEkiel:ninja:
get a case and build lego around it only an idea
It would be awesome, lots of things to consider tho, I;d imagine getting decent joins around everything would be quite hard, e.g. PSU and I/O to the case…I guess holes would be fine, but dust intake will obviously go up. Should be really good, but don’t glue everything straight away, it might be better to do a test “dry” run first, make sure your design works as planned
yeah, true… didn’t think about that…
Then i wonder why they make the “holes” in your mobo to be metal plated. It seems you make a connection between the mobo and case…
i could do your so called dry test run then superglue the outside of the case gether. like dunk it in superglue lol
