I just upgraded Norton AV from 2004 PRo to 2005,
refused to let it replace Win XP’s internal Firewall by it’s “worm” thing;
now I can’t connect to any FTP site anymore:
STATUS:> Getting listing “”…
STATUS:> Resolving host name ftpperso.free.fr…
STATUS:> Host name ftpperso.free.fr resolved: ip = 212.27.40.252.
STATUS:> Connecting to ftp server ftpperso.free.fr:21 (ip = 212.27.40.252)…
ERROR:> Can’t connect to remote server. Socket error = #10060.
STATUS:> Waiting 30 seconds…
is all I get.
Works when I go to security center and disable firewall altogether,
but obviously don’t want to do that…
Have added Cute both there and to Norton exceptions,
also added ports 20 & 21, all to no avail.
Any other suggestions (excluding install of 3rd party firewalls please)?
