Call for Developers –
Project Fallen Heroes, a registered 501©(3) non profit, is seeking talented developers to join us in a project that will stir up the computer industry. Rarely are designers and developers given a chance to come together for worthy cause. A project specifically created for designers and developers to celebrate your skills/talent but also a chance to give back because of it.
Project Fallen Heroes is a non-profit set-up for the sole purpose to allow internet and media professionals to come together, use their skills to give back and collaborate for the good of the community. The goal of the project is to promote the viral internet techniques of 2007 (and how they can be used in a positive manner), open source, the sharing of ideas but most importantly our heroes.
The website will become an online memorial for fallen firefighters, police officers, rescue, and military personnel. What will be presented is a database that allows those who have lost a loved one in service to be able to post a photograph, story, and personal memorial for their individual hero. Patrons will also be able to browse through the extensive catalogue of fallen heroes posted by others who share the same pain and have suffered the same loss. Aside from thousands of personal hero tributes, the photographs will be used to generate a unique video memorial. Small thumbnail versions of the photos will be collaged and work in sync with each other to generate a large video tribute.
Furthermore, the organization will raise funds to give back to families of the heroes. These funds will be used to help reduce the financial burdens of the grieving families as well as be used to provide specialty safety equipment (i.e. infrared cameras) to departments in need with an emphasis locally. The donations received will not only help alleviate the costs of those in suffering, but also prevent future catastrophes from happening.
We are seeking individuals/studios to aid in programming and flash development.
