Haven’t played Dinkum, but the “Switch 2 Edition” label always makes me twitch a bit — hope it’s a real performance/quality bump and not just a repackage with a higher price tag.

“Switch 2 Edition” is fine, but only if they put actual claims behind it. If it’s just vibes like “enhanced, ” people will pay twice and still get frame drops. Do they say anything concrete in the trailer/store page—target FPS, resolution, load times, and whether current owners get an upgrade discount?

Switch 2 Edition should mean:
- 60fps (or say 30fps locked)
- 1080p handheld / 1440p docked (or whatever it is)
- "loads in ~X seconds"
- upgrade: free / $Y / no

Yeah “Switch 2 Edition” without numbers is just marketing fog, and you only find out it’s still stuttery after you’ve paid again. If the trailer/store page doesn’t spell out target FPS/res and whether existing owners get a paid/free upgrade, I treat it as “same game, new badge” and wait for Digital Foundry / random YouTube performance clips before buying.

Look — I’m with you on the “new badge” vibe, but I’ve learned the hard way that waiting for Digital Foundry isn’t enough if the day-one patch is doing all the heavy lifting. I don’t buy these “Edition” re-releases until there’s a couple weeks of real-world clips post-patch and someone confirms whether the stutter’s actually gone or just moved to different spots.

Yeah, the “wait for DF” thing only works when the build they test is basically the build you’ll play, and lately it’s been more like a dress rehearsal. I got burned on a couple “next-gen edition” patches where the frame pacing got better in the intro and then fell apart in busy towns, so I’m with you on waiting for random gameplay clips a week or two later.
