Direction getting project started - please

Hi all you flash/actionscipt gurus. I need to do create a flash project where someone can visually design something (like nikeid.com), choose a size, change the colors of certain elements and add accessories. When the design is customized I need them to be able to print out a shopping list of the materials to create that design. Can any of you guys give me the best approach to make this happen?
