i have three buttons that load swf’s into empty movieclips…these swf’s have sound…now to speed up the loading of the site i want to load the three swf’s as soon as the main site is visited…somewhere off the main stage so their not visable but are now in the users cache… all this i can do i just cant stop the sounds from these 3 swfs from playing… any one no how to stop and start sounds…or disable sounds and enable
in those swf with sound, you need 2 frames,and all of them with a _stop AS. the first frame is an empty one, which means u put nothing in it. the second frame, make a MC and put ur sound inside it.
then in the main movie where u put ur buttons, u need 2 button states for each button, 1 for play sound and the other for stop the sound. u can then target each sound swf, tell the sound swf to goto its second frame to play the sound. to stop the sound, use AS like _stopAllSound, or sth else to tell the sound pause at a certain point and then play again from this point. but this is not the issue of this thread. (lol) and , u may send the sound swf back to its first frame which is empty.
