I’m looking for a gift for a friend of mine. He fancies himself a masson in the making, and I was thinking about a nice looking, FUNCTIONAL, ritual blade.
I’ve been looking at www.by-the-sword.com and find some nice looking blades. The important thing to me though is if my friend is out camping and needs to cut a side of meat off a cooking spit, that the blade will serve this function. I dont want a mock blade, but a real one. I want him to be able to welt the blade, and not lose so much metal over time that the blade is usless within a few sharpenings. Obviously I want it to be able to hold it’s edge well.
… and I want it for a decent price. 100 - 150 max.
so… if anyone has experience buying blades, and could give me a heads up on what to look for and what to avoid, I’d appreciate it.
