Does anyone know? (NetStream question)

I’m trying to find out how to get the length of an imported .flv when using NetStream/ NetConnection.

I’ve looked in the help and tried a few test scripts but I can’t seem to be able to find how long it is.

There is the NetStream.time property, but that only says where the playhead is at currently.

I’m sure are some ways around this, like when the vid is done I’m sure I could know that, but I’d like to be able to begin loading the next vid before the end so some could cache and be able to play fluidly when the previous one is finished.

Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks.

maybe this helps:

After some more brainstorming I came up with hard coding the time length along with the flv name in a 2-dimensional array.

It seems like a cheap hack, but since I have to encode the vids to .flv anyway it won’t be hard to do.

If any have some other suggestions I’m always open to try them.

Thanks for the link and the service Eyezberg!

I’m going to give it a try; it seems exactly what I need.

Cheers!

I really gotta say thanks for that link, Eyezberg. That is one handy little app. and writes all the info I’ll need to xml.

Great site, btw - I bookmarked and registered!
