I am contemplating a new computer, upgrading from a single core to a quad core. I was just wondering if the Flash compiler/publisher will make use of multiple cores. My project is pretty big and I’m always recompiling it to test small things. If it compiled quicker, I would be more productive! Has anyone seen any benchmarks testing this?
(Side question: It seems that exporting sounds in high quality heavily affects the publish time. Does this mean that it is always re-compressing the sounds each time? Isn’t that really a waste for sound data that hasn’t changed in many months? Just wondering if there is a workaround to stop constantly re-compressing unchanged data)
