Hey All…
I’m wondering if vectorizing an image makes it so that the image is no longer the original copyrighted image that it was… it can be done is Illustrator CS2 with the Live Trace feature. Does anybody know the answer to this?
Thanks.

i think someone asked this question a few months ago. Try searching in this forum for it.
briefly though, i’ve heard that if you change an image 70% then its an original image, so i guess technically live trace does this. I tend to think its easier to get my own image and vectorise that anyway, as i have more control over what it looks like.
I couldn’t find the post you were talking about…
does anyone else have any input?
i don’t know how to put this without sounding rude…
search.
i found it in approximately 4 seconds with a search for “copyright”
I believe it technically would still be considered copyright infringement. In any case, you should get a lawyer.
it is copyright infringement, if you put a new cover on the da vinci code, it doesn’t make it not the da vinci code.
It is definitely a Copyright infringment
Ok thanks for the input… I don’t need a lawyer cuz I didn’t do anything wrong BTW. Thanks for all of your input and now I get the point.
