Does this affect the file size?

This may or may not sound like a silly question…

If I have lots of thumbnails and as well the larger pictures in the same .swf, with the larger pictures all made into movie clips that do a little animation will that slow down the original loading time or will it only pause slightly when the movie clips run?? I am wondering because I would like to have these pictures in the library as mc rather than individually load .swf’s everytime someone wants to enlarge the thumbnail.

yes it does affect the file size since the user must wait till the whole fla downloads in order to view the pictures, sometimes making each jpg and individual swf can be better if the jg is small in size like lets say 25kb so thats a good thing in comparison to a swf with all the images which can be around 500kb or larger it all depends on how many images you have and how well compressed they are
