Doubts in Actionscripting

Hai Friends!

Fine.I would like to clarify my doubts with you all.Im new to the flash scripting too.

  1. I created the dynamic movieclip (createEmptyMovieClip),But want to set the left,top,height,width properties for the particular movieclip? How to proceed?

  2. Is there any function in the flash actionscripting altenative of Trim function. (I retrieve the values from the xml using the myxml.childNodes[0].childNodes[0].firstChild.nodeValue but it returns with trailing spaces before of the content)?

If any of you come across this issue.kindly post your alternative solution.Thanks in advance.
