Drag and drop interface navigation?

hi all,

i am a graphic design student and i am about to make my portfolio site in which id like to have a drag and drop interface similar to these sites http://filippasmedhagensund.com/#/co...l/kladdaw07/1/ and http://www.sonypictures.com/tv/shows...mafia/main.htm where you have to drag to advance the page.

I have some AS2 knowledge and learning AS3 and wonder which one would be best for this type of action.

Also i am assuming they are using empty movie clips to load in XML data. i am wondering how to make the drag transition bring the next or previous picture in together with the current one, and how far do you need to drag before the other one takes over? Do they just use 1 or 3 empty clips or MC for however many pictures there are with each empty MC assigned one of the XML links?

Basically i am just trying to figure out the architecture and how to go about making it for my site. so any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

I think you should stick to AS2 if you are new to startDrag()
