Dual LCD Calibration

Hi Kirupians,

I have an annoying problem with my monitor and hoping to find some answers…

I have been using a 17" NEC 1735NXM and a 19" Dell 1905FP while doing most of graphics related work on my 19" - cuz it’s bigger! :cowbell: Anyhow, it seems the color’s starting to look really weird on my 17" and no matter how I fiddle around with the color settings on the monitor, nothing really changes. I can’t get the white to look “white”!!

Do you guys have any suggestions :*(?

This is why most people get the same monitors… that an it looks better. You may have to be stuch with the fact that they won’t look the same.

Suggestion: get a new monitor or just pretend there isnt a difference.

There’s image calibraters that you can get for a price that’ll callibrate both to near same properties.

oooh I see… thank you.

Agreed. I have an old brandless 15" LCD next to my new 19" LCD, and I can never get the 15" to be the same as the other - it’s just never as “white”, even after playing with the colour settings.

Your NEC has a 450:1 contrast ratio, and the Dell has 800:1. That’ll make a difference with the richness of the colours, since you’ll get deeper blacks on the Dell. Both have 250cdm brightness, though… So I really think it’s just a matter of playing with the RGB sliders to make them match. Don’t bother with calibration hardware…
