Ducks In My Pool! Omg!

I just need to start carrying my camera in my car…a few weeks ago I saw one about a block from my house, then another about 200 feet away on the other side of the road, then one crossed a pretty busy road right in front of me about 500 feet from the last one.

Yeah I just talked to my friend in Ft. Collins and she had one on her porch! Didn’t have a camera ready though :frowning:

CG - you gotta think about it from the little person’s point of view. Those geese are frickin’ huge with the wing span! That’s hilarious she pooed herself! Unless of course you had to clean it up . . . :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Where in Ft. Collins? I’m in the Southeast-ish part of town. I haven’t had one that close to my house yet…which is good since it would probably eat my dog.

I’m not sure - I’ll have to find out. I know she can walk out her front door and in 5 minutes be on some cool trail in the foothills. When she walks her wolf-dog they are really like 3 mile mini-hikes. I’ll find out specifics next time I talk to her.

O man I’d kill to have a fox come onto my porch! I had a wolf-dog when I was a kid (part german shepard, part wolf) but my dad put her down. He said he gave her to a farmer but I’m not buying it. She used to bark a lot and I think he got rid of her because of that.

My friend’s dog is awesome. She was abused as a youngster, beaten and starved, at one point shut in a garage for 2 weeks with no food and water. When they found her she was covered in her own poop and afraid of the dark. When we adopted her (she and I were roomies at the time) the dog was terrified of people, men in particular. Had all sorts of physical limitations, couldn’t jump well, had natty fur, didn’t know how to play. If someone came to the front door she’d throw herself at the back door trying to get to the backyard and hide.

Now she is completely rehabilitated, a totally cool beautiful dog, still a little shy but friendly. She’ll howl/talk with you if you start it. She makes the most amazing facial expressions - grinning at you if she knows you. I’ll have to find some pics and post 'em, she’s super cool. Not as cool as my new puppy though.

Awww your story makes me sad even though it all turned out good.

I don’t know how the hell people can abuse animals. That stuff really pisses me off. I caught a kid hitting my dog with a stick through my fence and I just about killed him. I’ve never felt such anger. Whenever I see this kid I feel like running into the street and knocking his block off.

I agree. You wanna pick a fight with another human fine but don’t pick on an animal. I put it up there with child abuse. I can never watch those animal rescue shows, or the animal cop shows where they rescue abused animals. Makes me really sick. I think instead of a fine they should invoke the do unto others rule.

Anyway, enough hijacking of the thread. I should try to shoot some pics of the wildlife I bike by every morning. There was a great blue heron sitting on the dock right in the middle of downtown this morning! :thumb:
