Instead of importing png images for my stylised headings I wanted to generate them using infromation from an existing XML document.
I created a splattered image in photoshop and imported it.
I have 3 layers -
Dynamic Text Heading (SET AS A MASK)
Splats layer
Dynamic Text Heading with drop shadow.
The set up is meant to use the heading to obscure the splattered areas that arent needed so that only the splats over the heading are visible. The bottom layer has the drop shadows and other filters to create depth.
I have embeded the font and the title is correct. However, the dynamic text field is not being registered as the mask at runtime. It looks correct in flash, but when compiled the mask does not work and the whole stage is covered in splats.
How can I get the dynamic text field to work as a mask?
