Dynamicly export first frame of flv as image?

I found it hard to accurately describe the problem in the title, but here it goes:

A client has requested the export of the first frame in flv’s as an image for other uses on the server.

I’m searching the web for info, and have found these pages:

but it is still unclear to me how to actually do this, and if it’s possible.

I’m thinking actionscript could send pixelinfo to a php file that rendered the image, or maybe there is some other way around this. Any ideas on the subject are welcome!
