E-cards....are they really that popular anymore?

hey guys, just wondering if any of you are avid e-card users? It’s just something we were discussing in the studio, not many clients ask for this service anymore…just wanted some thoughts from you guys…

cheers

I never used them, nor will I ever use them. REAL card are MUCH more personal

I used to love them, they were fun and very popular for ages, but I probably wouldnt even look if someone sent me one now…

…but I definately agree that a paper card is sooooooooooooooo much better

I always make my own cards, they are sooo much better! I sometimes give my friends personal e-cards that i made in flash though, although each one is unique and never given to more than one person.

I loved the e-cards from ohmygoodness.com. But now that the site is down, I just make my own. The Garfield and Dilbert e-cards are still quite good though.

That is a genius idea, personal e-cards in Flash! I should make one for somebody’s b-day!

big time!

yeah I just made one last week for my girlfriends little sister…fun seeing kids faces when they are looking at cartoons of themselves…

actually give you a laugh, I had to do an e-card for the London crew of a very large PR firm…they were going to write the script…blagh blagh…

when I got the brief - oh my god it was like an episode of the simsons… hahaha…it would have taken me like 3 months to do it(I had 1 week)…some people just dont know how long animation can take!

I should find it and put it up on the backend of one of my sites for you guys to see…

Hmmm, I guess I’m going to have to take pictures of everyone then. So when it comes time, I can always slap their face on the card.

=)

I used to use e-cards every once in a while but I don’t anymore. They just seem so cheesy or something now :-\

Most premade ones are cheesy, but I’m sure nothing can come out cheesy if you make one yourself.

=)

I still prefer real-life cards. Nothing beats the look on someone’s face when they see your writing and vain attempt at drawing a unibrowed smiley…not that I would know anything about that :}

Real life cards are always nice though. The mean a lot more coming from the person. Internet cards are for like, people that you can’t reach without running all over the place mailing it. Although it also may be the way out on things, such as a simple excuse.
