Easily edit XML files (msn messenger chat history)

I have a bunch of MSN messenger chat history files saved as .xml that I’d like to edit. Right now I am doing it manually in notepad, but it takes me hours and hours. Wonder if there is a free programme that can easily edit there type of files (like dreamweaver for HTML). I tried downloading XML marker 1.1 but it doesnt make much sense to me
