I want to a effekt similar to this one !!!

In the beginning of this movie there is orange squares that gets
bigger and finally fill up the baxkground !!!
I tryied to do this effekt but I ended up with alot of layers:
I created a symbol then I placed instances
of it. For 20 squares i used 20 layers. Is there another way to do this effekt (that requires less file size) ??? with (actionscript)
