Edit Library Bitmaps With Photoshop

I am using MX studio and to edit a imported bitmap in Flash you click the symbol in the Library, select edit, Fireworks opens, you edit, select update and are returned to Flash with Fireworks closed.

In Flash 5 I do the same thing but I’m forced to edit with Photoshop simply because we have no Fireworks installed. After editing how do I update back to Flash. I am able to open Photoshop from Flash via edit, after I edit how do I export my changes to Flash.

Save the file. The in Flash go to File/Import and you can import your new image.

You may have to delete your old one from the library before importing the new one or it might say that you already have a file by that name.

Hey,

Example:

You have a logo.jpeg at the same level as your .fla (in the same folder) that you want to replace because you’ve updated it. If you’re importing an image into flash that you already have there, try this: When in photoshop, save your file as the same name you had it before (so replace logo.jpeg with a “new” logo.jpeg). If you replace the file and kept it in the same place as your original, you can go to the Flash 5 Library, right-click on the image, and click update. This will keep the image and whatever movieclips/graphics you’ve used it in already, and just replace the picture.

hope that helps as well as lost’s post,
