Elite Flash AS3 Developer(s)

Hey everyone!

I’m looking for some freelancers to help out with a new project. I’m actually an experienced developer and designer myself, but now I’m looking to begin work on the next version of a certain cutting-edge, high-profile project in AS3 and I just don’t have time to do it myself, even if I can.

I don’t have a huge 100k budget, but this is a very glamourous bit, and will get your name out there if it isn’t already, and we are already partnered with some big names so it’s going to be exciting. The pay will be more than fair, but will also be compensated with exposure. Expect your work to be downloaded by at least over 10,000 people soon after the product is launched - so the market is big for exposing yourself to thousands of people.

The job. This can be for both, or either positions:

  1. Interface designer/developer. You are a developer who can create a highly interactive and dynamic interface for some components in Flash, in AS3. Think like After Effects/new Flash CS4 interface. You have an eye for exceptional quality, painstaking attention to details, down to the perfect drop shadow and alignments, to the perfect shades of color.

  2. AS3 engine developer. You will be working on an pure AS3 engine, that will resemble much OOP and MVC styles. This will contain a lot of math, physics, motion and tweening. 3D knowledge would be a plus. This will be an open source, and is where your credit will be given as a lead developer. We will be making no profit from this source code. This may or may not be a long term job, depending. You must have beautiful code, that almost resembles art, fully documented with an apparent passion for AS, given thousands of people will see your code.

You must provide work and source in relation to which position you’re interested in. Remember, I’ve been doing this for 7 years, and I know good work when I see it, so please only apply if you know your stuff. Given that, I don’t care where you work or if you’re 17 and don’t have a job; as long as your code and designs are up to par. Also, experience in the OS community and ample code examples are highly appreciated. I’d love to help some lesser-appreciated developers get in on the scene, and if you’re looking for a way to the top, you can either do it the hard long way, or get involved with a cutting-edge open source project.
