EPS and AI files give different colors

Alright, this one is for the people who’ve done professional print jobs before (or understand something I don’t :thumb2: )

(if you don’t see any difference your monitor / color management needs help)

I’ve finished an poster which I’m just about to send to the printer’s but if i open my document saved as EPS (required print format) and the one saved as AI, there is a blatant color change (the EPS seems more saturated)
My color profiles are exactly similar (CMYK, Euroscale Coated, pretty much a standard in Europe), so are all my view options.

If I have both documents opened and drag my background from one document to the others, the colors stay the same (ie the EPS files will have a new, duller red background)…

I was able to reproduce this several times so I don’t think it’s a file handling problem. My guess is when assigning a color profile upon opening a document something just act weird (however it shouldn’t as I’m always working with the same color profile)

Has anyone encountered such problem before ?

thanks !
