Exit timer? OR? HELP!

I am launching an .exe from a Flash .exe from a button (using MX for a cd project).

OnRelease the new program opens and the Flash .exe quits. There is a time where the desktop shows between the applications running.

Is there a way to use an Exit timer here so that the Flash .exe doesn’t close for a few seconds while the new one opens?

Any suggestions on how to deal with this are welcome. Thanks!

Does anyone know how to pause before exit??? I would like to pause for about 5 seconds before closing the Flash exe after the button is hit.
Anyone???
