I tried to use the tutorial on kirupa that shows how to load data into a dynamic textfield from a notepad document. I tried the tutorial, and it didn’t work (and yes, I did test it on a browser), I also tested it on geocities. It still didn’t work. So I thought I was doing something wrong, and so I downloaded the final source of the tutorial fla. I opened it up, tested it on a browser and on geocities…it still didn’t work! What am I doing wrong here? Can someone gimme another method or something of doing it. Is there a different actionscript I can do?
You must’ve done something wrong, but we’re not much with “It doesn’t work”. Are you sure the txt file is in the same folder as the swf, are you sure the paths are correct, did you try to trace the vars, did you forget to give text fields instance names, … anything could be wrong. Can we see the FLA you are using (not the final source) ?
I forgot to add the instance names and it works now. By the way, you said:
