Hi,
any one plz tell me how to call an external quick time video in flash mx
thanks
What you can do is embed the quicktime movie inside a flash swf and then use the loadMovie script to load that swf into your main swf movie.
To embed a quicktime, just go to File > Import and select that quicktime file.
Thanks for replying but,
the requirement is that to call the quick time movie through external source like .mp3 or images in MX
See the processing which i am following:
When you export it out to swf, are you viewing it on the web? Is that when you said you’re not seeing it?
Because if you’re viewing it on the web, you’ll need to apply a preloader or else you’ll be looking at a blank white box till it finishes loading.
No
i am working currently offline and it is designing for cd rom presentation there is no matter of online or offline.
Actually i am doing this for multimedia presentation
Is it possible for you to zip up the FLA and post it so I can take a look?
can you please give me your email id
I just PMed you, check it for my email.
Hi,
i got your mail in which you send me a fix.zip first of all thanks for considering me and efforts done by you but again my problem is not solved.
If you look in the fla file you embeded .mov file in the fla which is not the right way i have 10 .mov files and i dont want to embed all of them in the flash i am looking for that external path means our .mov files will be outside and we will call them when ever required.
Once again plz see the file which i send you 1 folder contain sound files in that we are calling .mp3 externally and its playing
Same solution we required here for the .mov files
plz check it out
Like I said above, what you can do is embed each .mov file in a swf of it’s own and then use the loadMovie script to load each of those external swf into the main swf.
Otherwise, I don’t think you can dynamically load a mov file on it’s own.
Hi,
This thing i already done and its my last option when i dont get the solution.
But when we are following this procedure my swf file size got very biz for ex-
.mov - 2 mb
.swf - 15 mb
currently there is no matter of sizing because i am creatind a CD Rom presentation but its not the right way and i know there is solution for this but how???
Bye
Flash’s sorenson spark should of compressed the file size. When you import the .mov file in, set the quality to 80-90% from it’s orginal. You won’t lose that much quality and it should be much less than if you’re leaving it at 100%.
