[F5] need help with slide bars

Greetings; I have just begun working with Flash and have somewhat mastered the basic. As a test I was given a task to make a flash app that contained a triangle (well, it doesn’t have to be a triangle but to use it a reference) and this triangle has to do the following:When I pull a point, the other two would shrink or grow depending on the direction (similar to a locked equalizer seen in some media players).
Since I’m no good with animations I came up with this design instead:I would have 3 slide bars (each slider positioned in a same horizontal line) and above them 3 bars or pillars (like the ones you see at statistics) which would be aligned equally at the beginning but as I change the sliders, the would equalize themselves (including the other 2 sliders). The idea was to set a value of 100% and split them equally for the sliders and as they move, so would the % be changed; ex. if I change a slider to 100%, the other two would drop to the bottom. Also one slider was supposed to raise all of them so, instead of the %, I thought about simply raising the position.
So, in short, the problem is I don’t know how to “lock” the sliders; maybe I should use “drag” events?

Well, It sounds simple but I have no idea where to begin; I guess I’ll start by by drawing the shapes.
P.S. I do not have a flash designer tool at my PC at home and have to wait for tomorrow before I continue(start) my work but due to the time zone I’d probably have to wait for the day after tomorrow before I get any help so I posted this beforehand. I apologize for any trouble I might have caused and also, thank you for your help.
