Facebook API, is it possible in Flash? (Not Flex/AIR)

I want to integrate the Facebook API into my game, so that it would update the user’s progress in his status line in Facebook.

I’m working on this game in Flash CS4, it’s not an AIR or Flex project.
Can the Facebook AS3 API be integrated into my application?

All I see around the net is AIR or Flex examples…
None in a Flash file (which isn’t exported to AIR).

Can anyone tell me if it’s possible and if so, where can I find a tutorial for this?
