Does anyone know of an easy way to make those fancy swirl designs in illustrator. I think it is called embellishment. Often found on fancy french furniture or old-fashioned artwork. It is hard to explain i will see if I can find a sample. I can make them by hand but it is very tedious and I have seen some designs that are so erfect it had to be generated with a plug in or something. Any help greatly appreciated.
i think i can picture what you are talking about, but a image would help.
hahaha …yeah looking for one…I know that explantion sucked
man I cannot find a example…
lol
:trout:
okay here is a example. I did this logo for gallo wines (which is a project I am working on currently)
I am looking o do something similar to this. But it needs to be more uniform and exact almost to the point where it looks mathematical, with the symmetry and stuff. It took me a while to do this one…I have to do one on a larger scale and was wondering if there is an easy way or a plugin or something that could expedite matters. This one was easier since it did not have to be uniform.
i havent seen a plugin that can do that, ill have a look though. my first thought was to use a custom brush and a stylus pen, but that wouldnt be accurate.
yeah it needs to be real accurate. I have seen some before and it is so perfect that it cant possible be done by hand…maybe I should sleep on it…I have been on it too hard…If anyone has an idea please share it with me…
i think you’ll find that they are done by hand… think about it - such designs often featured (i.e on french furniture) before there were computers and machines to do it for them
i guess it COULD be done using some mirroring and rotating and stuff, but you’d still need to have the basic stuff drawn by hand
