File size

hey, ok, so… trying to get my footer’s size down… the .swf file is 21 k. this seems rather large considering all i have in it are 4 gifs that are 80 by 60 pixels in size… so i’m wondering… is there a way to compress the gifs? how can i make the .swf smaller? thanks,
derek

try changing from gif to jpegs, or try reducing the number of colors in the coding for your gifs. Fireworks, Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, etc… will do an excellent job of it.

Good luck

Oh. Also, check the resolution of your original. You may not need 300 dpi… try reducing resolution as low as your image can handle…

ok, thanks

hmmm… ok, i tried making them jpgs, and they ended up twice as large as the gifs on the crappiest setting (quality 1)… i couldnt figure out how to change the dpi or whatever it is… any suggestions?
