Hi there! I do realize it is Thanksgiving so there are probably less people to help me 
but for those who can…
I’ve recently become interested in rpg styled flash games. I suppose I am an “intelligent” noob. 
oh the irony. Well I’ve made a little boy who has 4 frame labels: “up”, “down”, “left”, and “right.” As the user pushes the <Left> key the little boy turns left.
However, I stumble here. How do you add motion to his walk? while allowing him to switch frames?
Left> Left movement & animation
Down> Down movement & animation
And another thing,
When the user (me) presses and holds the movement key, the little boy shows that motion, but after a few seconds he freezes, as if I froze him in an ice frost. poor boy.
