Hello all,… I still am missing the big picture here on loading movie clip
the code is right, all files in the same folder… the movie works in test mode flash , but still fails in dreamweaver… do I need to keep the html file and the fla files in the same folder as well, there are in there… maybe I should take them out, or maybe some adjustments need to be done in the publish settings menu…
any ideas

is it happening on an enterFramew or other kind of loop?

thanks for the reply, I figured out my mistakes after a few days of reading tons of forums. I think the problem lies with me being on a mac format, the issues were with paths… seems that most of the forum issues are from people on PC and using relative paths is fine, The forums are littered with
on release loadmovieNum “whatever.swf”, 1
but on a mac the relative pathing will work in test mode in flash only. When in the dreamweaver testing mode, the pathing (for Mac) needs to be absolute.
On the other hand…Unfortunally I found that if you do make it absolute and test it in flash you get a Error message that will through you off if you don’t know this is the structure…
but thanks for the reply… but for me, this is just a smalll step in a 3000 mile journey, but I am enjoying the travel time

If that works for you …cool! but I’ve been working with Flash on both MAC and pc for years and never heard or had that problem,
and I can categorically say that relative paths work on MACs!!!
(Falsh 3 in bothPC and Mac worked with absolute paths only but those times, thanks Ala, have long gone).
