Thought this may be of interest to some of you.
I recently uploaded a Flash 8 tutorial to my site. It should give you enough info to start publishing Flash 8 content from the Flash 7 IDE, use filters/blending modes and includes some bitmap manipulation techniques using the new BitmapData class. It also contains links to Flash 8 specific source code. Effectively I’ve just collated a lot of the material that’s floating around, constructed a couple of example files and put it all in to tutorial format. It is, as yet partly unchecked, so I would be grateful of any feedback (or additions if you feel there are any areas for improvement).
I have done my best to keep it as accessible as possible.
