Flash advances to frame 2 inspite of stop() command

I am creating an e-learning module using a PC with windows XP; running PowerPoint 2003 and Articulate Presenter v5.4

**I have some .swfs that consist of multiple frames. These were created in CS4 and published for Flash Player 7.
**

Each frame has a stop() command and uses buttons (gotoAndStop()) to navigate within the .swf. These all play normally when tested and viewed outside Articulate, but when viewed as part of the presentation, the .swf advances through the first frame and stops on the second fame.
I found some VB code that rewinds the .swf and it worked for one of the .swfs, but not three others. !!!@#$!#% They are all basically the same setup. I am stumped!

Has anyone run across this issue and have a solution?
