Flash all over

yehaaaa flashers,
how’s it going to day… I came across a phenomen that puzzled me and I’m wondering if one of you might be able to enlighten me.

Usually a .swf is embedded in a html file, correct?! To keep proportions, not have the pixel fonts look weired etc. etc.

Or sometimes one can call directly on a .swf through a link. (Never used that often cz I think it’s too limiting)

But I’ve seen sites, where the whole range is flash, meaning if the movie itself was e.g. 800x600 and your browser would be covering 1200x1600, the surrounding area is still flash. (sort of right klick left and right to the actual .swf)

How is that working? PHP?!!(I’m not that familiar with PHP)

thoughts and comments appreciated,

thx,

mucho
