Flash Dimensions

Hello,

I have a background image (psd file) which is about 2616x1505. The designer created this large layout because he wants the swf file to be prominent (on the HTML page). So without losing the integrity of the design and still making the Flash file and size somewhat reasonable, how should I set the Flash size (and then the HTML size)? I’m assuming that most viewers will view on 1024x768 screen - so is setting the stage to 800x600 reasonable? (well at least that’s an accessible standard).

How do I choose the appropriate size for my stage and also for the Flash document to be eventually contained in an HTML page? If anyone can direct me to where and how standards are set, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Hi i’m not really sure of you questions.
But it’s right nowdays the standard 1024x768 you can use a smaller size swf stage so it views properly. 800x600 is allright too, Some of my projects is still done with that measurement, buy hey it depends on you and the projects.

Hi jdesign,

Thanks for your response. So if i have a background image (that will be used as the background for my flash movie), should i set the dimensions of the image to 1024x768 and should i also set my Flash stage size to 1024x768? There are no specific requirements to this project regarding viewing size except for the fact that the window size of the Flash presentation should be big enough and still be prominent.

Also how big can I size my Flash stage to be if I want it to take up the 1024x768 window size?

Hope this clarifies things somewhat. Additional feedback is definitely welcomed!!

Thanks again!!

?

Play around with sizes until you get what you want – I find it changes according to the project
