Flash projectors - removing window options, & are odd shapes possible?

Hi all

As per the title - i’d like my .exe file not to have the window menus (ie, minimise, maximise, and the ugly border)

Also, is is possible to have, potentially, a circular swf? Ie, where the corners to create the circle have an alpha channel, and windows behind can be seen?

I’ve also used the fscommand allowscale… command to stop scaling, however it’s still letting me resize the window! If I can’t get an odd shaped swf, it would at least be great to have a borderless movie, without window options (the same as with a Macromedia Director projector).

Thanks

If im right those things cannot be done inside flash itself.
You should import the swf in director. Here you can mask the stage with a 1bit bitmap and there are also a lot window propety’s you can play with.

Cheers Bokke, i thought that may be the case - google came up with a few external pieces of software to remove the windows crapola too. Methinks this is an unfortunate shortcoming of Flash…

Yes indeed…
Its something they should put in the next version, more and advanced publish options. I actually think this is going to happen, becouse there was no new version of director this year… :frowning:

Think shockwave is dying, everything will be flash…
Just look at all the new flash 8 stuff, its realy gonna be a all in one package.

Definetly - pro software should have a much more extensive list of final output options.

Ahh… I remember the days of director… wistfully wipes tear across brow

I used http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/ with a great deal of success to remove all of the right click menus (so it simply does nothing inside of outside of the context of the movie), so it leads me to believe that failing the director route, there must be a windows hack to remove the windows native border/buttons…

Well, there proberly are tools on the internet that you can use to do that.
Also, Director does not support 8 bit alpha masking, only 1bit.
This way you get jagged edges instead of those sexy round borderless windows like Abode uses in its splashscreens.

Yep, just found a few great little apps.

Jugglor being the best of the bunch.

Unfortunately they’re a frag more expensive than I anticipated!
