FlashMX to Flash8

I am curious why, when I installed Flash8, it did not recognize that I already had FlashMX installed and either;

  1. Ask if I wanted to remove it or
  2. Say “Hey man, you have MX here - delete it if you want with impunity!”.

I am weary of removing MX via WinXP Add/Remove.

Can anyone tell me if it will cause problems to go ahead and delete MX or, if you have had a similar experience, were any problems encountered?
