FMX rotate symbol on transformation point

I have a triangular symbol that I want to rotate on a transformation point (the pointy tip). The effect is supposed to be like Hollywood searchlights panning around (see pic below).

I’ve done basic rotations with actionscript before, but a transformation point wasn’t involved.

How is this done? Is the transformation point determined manually on the stage or with actionscript?

When you convert your object into a movie clip symbol, you will notice next to the radio button where you select Movie Clip there is a block with 9 squares in it, Click on the square where you want your registration point (tranformation point) to be set at.
