Hello kind Kirupa folks. Long time lurker, first time poster. I’m a hack with Action Script, but I need to solve this quickly (of course).
I have dynamic text being pulled in from a txt file. I have invisible buttons over the text which tell movie clips (which are under the text) to go to the appropriate frame on over, down, release. I did this because I couldn’t figure out how to have the text use an html link and have the button states change. The buttons were “stealing focus” from the text or vice-versa. Anyway, this sample explains it better. The .fla is on the server as well. Can someone point me in the right direction? I just want the buttons to read in a URL from the txt file along with the display text. I think I would use loadVars to do that?
Im using CS3 but haven’t gotten into AS3 yet. Don’t know if my title is appropriate. I need to support Flash Player 6 and up.
