I’m an advanced actionscripter. And I am the closest I want to be to hell right now dealing with font symbols. If you have 5 minutes, PLEASE read this whole thing, as I’m beyond eager for open discussion on what the F**CK (excuse me) the custom is for contending with font symbols/anything font oriented in mx2004.
I’ve tried all of these: StyleSheet / TextFormat() / using tags from my XML to format the movie’s text, etc.
If I’m using any of the above, it’s necessary to have the font in the library.
If a font symbol’s in the library, you can’t set a textFormat() to ’ bold=true ';
the font will not render in the field.
you know what…I’m exhausted experimenting with this BULL. I could have made 20 awesome-looking designs in the time it’s taking me to use a f*ing typeface in flash.
I’ve been doing flash design for 6 years and i’m seriously about to give the whole crap up.
