Found program to convert image to vectors

Wow. I found this program called vector eye.
It takes any image file and will convert it to a vector.

The thing is you can either save the vector as an eps, svg or rpg.

I saved mine as a eps…

The questions is how to cut the white background off the image.

The image is of a person standing on a white background…

It impoprts the eps to flash… but still has the white background on it.

And I cant use trace bitmaps on the eps file once it is in flash…

Any comments or suggestions?

Well I decided to try to trace the bitmap in flash again…
and it takes so much processor that my pc just bogs downnnnnn…

and i can delete the white background… but it is not clean at all…
it has all kind of white left around the edge of the imgae…

there has to be a better way to get images cut out and in flash as vectors…

Well… line drawings can be turned into vectors, there are programs that can do it quite well. Other than that, you will need to hand-trace it, probably- vectors just dont work well with bitmaps.

hey…can vector eye be downloadable in the Internet?
i need that one

Rasterbator is much cooler.
it converts lowres images to rasterized (outline circles!) pdf files.

go check this out
http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/

normal bitmap to outline converting can also be done with Adobe Stramline, Illustrator CX and Freehand, and ofcourse, Flash itself.

thanks but i need image converted to vector not raster

no that’s okay

vectorizing bitmaps to vector is (my) daily business, so i thought converting to raster would be nice to share with other people.

oo…thanks anyway

Hey Stewart? If vectorizing images is you daily business then can you tell us what software to use?

as i told before, i use
this http://www.adobe.com/products/streamline/main.html
this http://www.adobe.com/products/illustrator/main.html
and this http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash

Other than that, you will need to hand-trace it, probably- vectors just dont work well with bitmaps.

You got that right. Vectors are much clearer images and of course when you try to enlarge a bitmap, the image gets distorted. Illustrator is the perfect application to use for vector graphics. You can simply create/draw the outline of your shapes or whatever and import it into photoshop and than color it with any tool you want.

With the white bg, bring the eps into Photoshop. Use the Magetic lasso tool and trace around the white bg carefully. Delete the selection and that should get rid of the white bg. This is one way of doing it.
